Abbie Lestrade | film maker

Currently pursuing a BFA in Film and Television at Louisiana State University, where I've worked on a range of productions—from zero-budget projects to those with substantial funding—in various crew roles. At LSU, I've worked in a variety of on-set roles, from gaffer and grip to director and craft services—each offering a unique experience.

My coursework includes Cinematography, Editing, Directing, Film History, and Production, through which I've developed skills in lighting, sound, design, and storytelling, both in the classroom and on professional sets.

Over the past year, I’ve found a strong passion for directing and cinematography, especially after serving as Director of Photography on an LSU-funded student film.

This coming spring, I’ll be directing $5 Margaritas, a short film I wrote that was awarded a production grant through a competitive pitch process by the LSU School of Film.
